The COVID-19 global pandemic changed how Amy conducted business, just like the majority of the world had to learn to adapt to changes in business. Access to healthcare was threatened by the inability of many to leave their homes and having in-person appointments moved to tele-appointments.
Amy never considered doing tele-psychiatry, but knew that her patients needed her more than ever during 2020. The successes both her and her patients discovered throughout them meeting virtually over the last year, found her starting her own private virtual-only practice.
Psychiatry is uniquely positioned to continue to allow virtual care, which greatly improves access to care for many people. This also allows Amy to add more clients into her day or tend to a patient who may need urgent care.
